  2021 PSAC WEST OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Noah Mitchell, Cal U,...For Noah Mitchell, he earns the Offensive Player of the Year honor after being a key component in Cal U's 10-1 season. The Vulcans were Co-PSAC West Champions following a season in which Mitchell threw for 2,937 yards and 25 touchdowns, which was tied for second in the league. He had a passer efficiency rating of 144.8 and had huge games against PSAC West foes in Gannon, IUP and Seton Hill.   California University of Pennsylvania is saddened to learn of the death of Jamain Stephens, a business administration major and a senior on the football team. Cal U mourns the loss and extends its condolences to his family and friends. "Jamain was such a wonderful student with a smile on his face every time you saw him," said Athletic Director Dr. Karen Hjerpe. "His personality was contagious and he made such a positive impact on everyone he met." Stephens appeared in 32 games for the football team at Cal U from 2017-19. - Cal PA Football

  2019 ALL-PSAC FOOTBALL WESTERN DIVISION FIRST TEAM (COACHES): DB Lamont McPhatter II, Cal U, Sr., New Castle, Pa./New Castle,...McPhatter earned All-PSAC West First-Team status for a third-consecutive year, becoming the first defensive player to accomplish the feat since Rontez Miles from 2010-12. McPhatter paced the secondary and finished fourth on the team with 58 tackles (32 solo).   2019 PSAC WEST FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Noah Dillow, Cal U,...Cal U's Noah Dillow was tabbed Freshman of the Year. He is the fourth Vulcan to receive recognition and it marks the second consecutive season Cal U has boasted the winner (Noah Mitchell). Cal U is the first team to win the award in back-to-back years since Mercyhurst (2011 & 12). He is the first defensive player from Cal U to earn the award since 2010. Dillow finished third on the team with 59 tackles. He has turned in 5.5 tackles-for-loss and two interceptions.   OCT 28 PSAC WESTERN DIVISION OFFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Nelson Brown, Cal U (Sr./RB), Salisbury, Md./Wicomico,...Brown finished with nearly 200 all-purpose yards and scored a pair of touchdown in the second half, as the Vulcans posted a 27-15 victory over Mercyhurst on Saturday. He posted a season-high 119 rushing yards and one touchdown on 24 carries, including 81 yards in the second half. With Cal U trailing late in the third quarter, Brown caught a screen pass on 2nd-and-16 and raced 74 yards for a touchdown – the longest reception of his career.   OCT 21 PSAC WESTERN DIVISION OFFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Noah Mitchell, Cal U (So./QB), Euclid, Ohio/Euclid,...Mitchell accounted for a career-high five touchdowns (one rushing) on Saturday, as the Vulcans rolled to a 54-14 victory at Gannon in PSAC West play. He matched his career high of four touchdowns passes for the third time this season and finished with 295 passing yards on 20-of-35 attempts despite not playing in the fourth quarter. Mitchell also registered his first rushing touchdown of the season late in the third quarter on Saturday.
